ahh typo get over it. What I was trying to tell you is that if you doubt what you were told about the car by this seller then maybe you should look around at some of his other "mods" he's done, with no lack of ingenuity I might add, and start putting 2 and 2 together. This is a prime example of why you don't buy the cheapest fc on the market, or ones damn near close to it.

hm, doesnt look like too many ppl have suggested the LIM leak.

coolant flows through the intake, and it can leak onto the exhaust. my T2 had that problem and it would just leak slowly onto the turbo and you wouldnt be able to hear or see it happen. the BAC sometimes also leaks, as well as the waterpump and rear heater hose going to the TB.

 

I Dont Think That Its The Fact That Its Worse Or Better With The Car Not Running. It Looks Worse Because The Fan Isnt Blowing All The Steam Away. I Would Take Off The Upper And Lower Hoses And The Thermostat Housing And Check For Any Kind Of Corosion Or Carbon Buid Up That Could Kust Cause It Too Clog Up. Dump Some Water Through The Top See How Well It Flows Out The Bottom.. You Really Just Gotta Dig Around To Find An Issue. Take Stuff Apart Put It Back Together Over And Over Again.

Update:

Old owner had improperly installed the thermostat and thermostat gasket.

After I replaced them, the coolant leak disappeared, and is no more.

 

+1. You may also want to inspect that small hidden hose on the back of the waterpump.

 

Figured out the leak

Old owner somehow managed to screw up the install of the thermostat + thermostat gasket. It was leaking from the "back" of it, which made it almost impossible to track down untill I disassembled most of the damned thing.
