Is this blown?
Is this blown?
I purchased an 88 N/A with a reported blown rear rotor. Driving the car home, it barely made any power, wouldn't rev over 4k, ran extremely rough, and died at every stop light.
Today I ran atf through the motor for about an hour, then tried firing the engine with just the rear rotor plugs connected. Amazingly the engine fired up... This isn't possible on a 0 compression rotor, correct? I then fired the front independently, it ran. Wired them both up, it runs.
The car revs smoothly, it doesn't smoke anymore, and it doesn't smell horribly of gas. However it will not hold an idle. It just dies whenever I take my foot off the gas.
Is this problem attributed to this rear rotor - which seems to be running - or is this problem related to something else (leak or whatnot)?

it isn't toast yet but its getting there, I believe if you do a compression test you will find low numbers in the rear rotor. sounds like the seal is wearing but is not gone yet so it will still run just not very well.
