blowing meter fuse

i'm blowing the meter fuse. i thought it was the 5th/reverse switch on the trans so i disconnected it. i drove for a while and it worked like normal, then blew again. i tried once more and it blew, but when it goes i hear a little 'tick' from the ecu/pass side floor area. is there something over there it could be grounding on?

do what we do on the aircraft when the circuit breakers pop- start isolating all the circuits the fuse feeds & check 'em for a short to ground with the multimeter

I'm sorry, man, I didn't know you weren't a pro with a meter...O.K., first off, have you changed any parts or done anything else to the car that might cause the fuse to blow? Other than telling you NOT to have power on when you're reading resistance with a meter, I can't possibly train you to be an electrician without typing a novel...
