blowing fuse
every time i turn the ignition, the 30A EGI. COMP. fuse blows.
back story: the other day i watered down my engine bay while still warm (i was cleaning it) and i somehow managed to flood it. so i deflood it and nothing. after a couple of defloods, i decide to get new spark plugs and she starts rite up fine. good as new. i take it for a drive around the block and as im about to shift into 3rd, its starts to sputter and dies on me. i managed to pull over and i saw the 30A fuse was blown so i replaced it w/ the headlight retractor one and it blew instantly. bought new ones, blew them too. whats the deal???
so what could it be?

First realize that all the solenoids on the engine have one BLACK/WHITE wire EACH. Plus the ACV has two solenoids that have one BLACK/WHTIE wire EACH. And the ECU has a BLACK/WHITE wire that feeds it.
Next realize that the EGI COMP fuse feeds those BLACK/WHITE wires.
All the BLACK/WHITE wires mentioned are all spliced together. Short out one.......short out all and blow the EGI COMP fuse.
More times than not, the problem is one of the pigtail leads on the solenoids on the ACV that have a BLACK/WHITE wire grounding out. Unplug those pigtail harness and see how things go.

so i checked (most) of those wires mentioned, also checked the grounds, and i moved some wires around. nothing seemed out of the ordinary. so i cranked it again and it started!
let it warm up, and drove around the block a few times. it seemed fine besides the smell of old oil.
hmmm...

Sounds like you moved the Black/White that was touching ground from the area it was grounding to, so now things are fine. But later if you move the wires/harness again it might touch ground again. Like if you look at the solenoids on the ACV you might look at the wires as they enter the solenoid(s) on the ACV and look for the wire being bare in that area. If the bare wire touches the metal around it, the fuse will blow.
