Blower motor power transistor

Okay, I have determined that the blower motor transistor is fubared! Motor only operates on high speed when the relay kicks in. Does anyone know where i can get a replacement without pulling from a salvage yard? Maybe a digikey part number :P.

Thanks
-Andy

Thanks for your help everyone. bah, jk. just in case someone else ever has this problem...

P/N MJ11016GOS-ND
Desc trans darl npn 30A 120V T03
$3.72 + ship

Just incase anyone stumbles on this thread looking for part numbers, im going to include these other P/N from digikey. The following parts are the 2 types of replacement relays needed for the wiper switch fix. There are several how-tos on the fix so i wont go into it here. But i remember having trouble finding the right relays. so here you go..

P/N 255-1240-ND
Desc relay auto mini spdt 15a 12vdc
$1.42 + ship

P/N Z950-ND
Desc relay pc mn 8A spst-no/nc 12vdc
$5.73 + ship

awesome write up on your other thread.

mine recently started to not work at all, but I can hear the relay clicking. do you think it's the same thing? Recently it worked one morning on the super high setting, and then stopped again.

i have the exact same problem. EXACTLY. I've been through 3 logicons as well, could this be the true culprit?

The motor is controlled by several factors... There are 2 relays attached to the blower assembly. The main one with 5 wires is the main power relay. If this relay is bad then the fan wont work on any setting. The other relay turns on when you turn up the fan speed to max. If your fan speed control works, but just doesnt seem to blow like it should when on high, check this relay. When the main relay is on and the 2nd is off (any setting but high or off), the transistor controls the fan speed...

hope this helps..

well I have new (ish) relays coming in the mail, and this transistor, so my blower better work after that.

also, i went on digikey's site and they only ship to the UK apparently, so I got mine from here: http://www.newark.com/

Digikeys site did that to me too... They do however ship to the US. They must be having issues.

Do you have the part number for the second blower motor relay? I tried everything to get my fan to blow out stronger, sealing the ducts, replacing logicon, and even replacing the blower motor itself, all to no avail. The fan does go from low to high, but just doesn't blow out very strong on the highest setting. Maybe the second relay is the culprit.

Similar Issue

So originally my blower motor did not work and its brand new. So I resodered the connections on the cpu circuit board. Then I got the blower to work but only on max speed. So then I checked out the power transistor and it seemed fine. But I still resodered the connects around it and repairs mouse chewed wires. Then hooked it back up again and it worked! It worked on max but when I adjusted the fan speed it slowed down a little. But not as much as it should be when the fan was set to low. I do have a new logicon installed so I figured it can't be that. Unless what ever the small blackbox which is attached to the logicon is bad. Anyway I was excited for about 5 minutes and then the blower motor stopped working completely. Please help I would like to have heat and a/c in my car.

My blower motor won't even work in high speed. Both relays are clicking and doing their thing.

That transistor wouldn't be the issue would it?

All fuses are good. I haven't gone any farther than just checking those due to it being cold outside.

The transistor isn't part of the high speed loop, so maybe the motor itself is bad.

Doubtful but possible.

It worked one day and the next it didnt.

I also cannot engage my AC clutch.

If the coolant level is low the pressure sensor that measures coolant pressure would prevent the clutch from engaging I think.

My AC doesnt work because it is clogged, but it had plenty of pressure.

I am thinking that it is a freak power issue.
