blow off problems
i was planing on getting a blitz blow off for my 87 turbo II and i have played with my stock one and it doesnt run right if the exit of the blow off is not connected to the intake. if i get the blitz will it have the same problem? thanks for the help.
no, it will function fine with the blitz if its not vented back into the TID, as for the stock one. you cant just unplug it from the intake and run it like that. there is something you have to do to make it work right.
the stock blowoff valve sucks in air at idle. when you are unplugging it, its sucking in un-metered air and messing up your idle. if you want to vent the blowoff valve you have to get a one-way valve to stick on the end of the BOV that way it will only let air out and not suck it in letting in un-metered air.
sorry to thread jack but,
will an after market BOV cause the car to run rich off throttle like the stock w. check valve does. I mean fire is cool, but it also seems like a great way to foul up my cat.

what type of BOV, you could always fab something up to put the air back into the TID. i know sombody with a greddy BOV.also blowing air off into the atmisphear will make your car backfire. its all up to you
As I said above, any open-vented BOV (stock or aftermarket) can cause popping and flames, although how bad seems to vary from car to car. It's not the type of BOV that matters; it’s the fact that you're dumping metered air. Any car equipped with an AFM will do this.
