blitz LM filters suck A$$

im a very very very bitter rx7 owner. two days ago my blitz LM filter came apart while driving. when it came apart it got sucked into my engine. There are two lil felt pieces (not shown) that seal the filter element to the plastic ends . stay away from this filter or anything that can come apart.. my car sucked the felt piece up and now it idles like $hit. No matter what i do it acts just like there is a Intake leak. i only recovered about maybe 30% of the top felt ring from the intercooler and checked every part of the intake tract. Im hoping that missing piece was blown out of the BOVs. had i thought about this possibility i would have never run it on my car
Anyways bottom line stay away from any blitz LM filters, any ebay knock offs(they do have them), or any filter that can come loose with a screw. [ sus failing suck unscrewed ] <--- search window

Blitz isn't exactly junk.

I've heard about this with the HKS mushrooms, but never a cone style like that. For the record tho, I've had the mushrooms on my car for 2 years now (changed once a year, roughly 12k/yr on the car) with no problems, and they still seem to be plenty strong when they are removed.

I probably just jinx'd it since I'm due for a replacement in April.

yuh the foam filters "degrade" id rather have foam making a field trip through my engine than that thick felt stuff. i have checked the entire intake tract to the LIM oh yeah and wade/noob nothing blitz has ever been cheap. the previous owner was crazy enough to pay 174 for that freaking filter setup. blitz goes inline with greddy apexi hks..... if blitz is "cheap" so are those other guys:-P.. and duuude you said shrooms
