Looks like your OMP lines didn't make it

I don't know about annodizing....that is alot of heat to apply to the rotor housings. I would stay away...but that is just me

Keep us updated!

Well I cleaned and painted some today. Waiting on my Rear and Middle IRons to get back. I sent them to be cleaned, My step dad works for a refinery lab and they have a killer parts washer. I gotta order some side seals for the rotars, I was breaking them down, very carefully mind you. Anyway one of them snapped into. I will call atkins tomorrow and get a new set ordered. I got the carbon off the rotars and out of the ports on the irons as best as I could with wire wheel brushes on my air drill and dremel. They cleaned up pretty good. As soon as I get the video and seals I will get back on it. Thanks for the input......

Why the hell does the damn side seals cost so much....they seem to be nothing more than thin strips of metal..Almost seems like you could get a few cut at a machine shop. But I gotta get them to finish the motor....oh well...

I know most of you guys hate body kits, but I liked this one. Was in the process of getting it all on and the body ready for paint before the engine decided to go south. So while its down I will get back on the body while I wait for parts. I guess the good thing is I can now shoot the engine bay.

Sith, you're doing a great jo.Keepup the good work and post pics. We like 'em. Any way. Your housings look great. Take the rotors apart and keep all parts on a drawn diagram of where theycam from. The RA video shows you hw to mark your rotors with a metal stamp reference. "Front" "Rear" "A" "B" etc. Then take your rotors and drop them into Carb cleaner for a couple of days. I only bought on gallon of carb cleaner but I needed two so that the entire rotor could be submerged for a day or two. the carb cleaner really made quick work of carbon coated motor parts. I also took my larger parts to the machine shop and had them clean everything. Came out real nice. While waiting on parts try to get ahead of the game and clean

thanks for the stamp tip.... but i stamped them before I pulled them apart, as well as the rotars once it was apart. I bought the stamp kit at harbor freight. My step dad works for a refinery lab and they have this giant parts washer, he took the rotars and irons in for me
and dipped those. if I had the cash I would have sent the irons off to have the outside debirred.

Impulsive chip,
Not sure on time man, I can yank and rebuild a v8 in a day if everything is there. But I am taking my sweet *** time on the 7.

While I have the engine out of the car, what all can I yank out of the bay? I also need to address the windshield washer bottle. It always throws up the empty light even though its full and working. Can the sensor be fixed or is it best to get another? While the car is down I want to do as much as possible. Before the engine blew I was working on it on the weekends having to rush to get it back together for the weekly ride to work. I got the ride thing taken care of for at least a good month. I just wanna do all I can. And is it worth putting a header on the 7, does it make any noticable power gains? And does anyone have any tips for reconditioning the wireing harness? Thanls....

Weekends here, time to get back on the motor as well as stripping the engine bay for paint. If anyone has any suggestions as to what all can come out of the bay to give it a cleaner look, I'm all ears. Was thinking about dropping in an EFAN as well, have not decided on that just jet.

I didn't pull much out as I was leary (or scared). I wish that I would have pulled everything out (hindsight). My bay is white but it has yellowed over the years. It looks clean but yellowed. Any kind of spray paint would have made it look so much nicer. The steering column and brake booster areas are really hard to get clean cause wires and **** are all in the way. I didn't break the A/C lines or the power steering lines at all and they were in the way. So the passenger side is really clean the driver side could use a bit more cleaning.

Hindsight=as long a period that my motor was acutally out of the car I could have taken all that loose and sprayed it. Maybe next car or next motor!

I will pick up the side seals in the morning. Got them for 5 bux per ( Good to have a friend at Mazda that can get parts at cost) . I hope to assemble the motor this weekend if all goes well. Suppose to rain that will at least lower the bloody garage temps . I will post more pics later.....
