Blew My Motor

Why me and why now!! This was totally unexpected right before school. ****!!!

Anyhow, I drove the thing for a 100 km spin across the border to a local casino with a friends of mine. I flew there at a buck50. Everything was alright, won some cash. Get back in, engine was still a little warm. Driving up a hill and totall unexpectedly this weird sound happens and I feared the worst. This is my second engine now at around 130,000 kms that went dead on me. I was so ******* pissed. Drove the 100 km back on one rotor. At times I got it to a hundred barely but had to go up hills in 2nd gear at around 4k. Any event, I did drive the car hard and just finished draggin it a month ago. The oil was at around little less than half of the meter and was in need of an oil change which may be the reason too. With this engine though I have no blasts of compression at all in the rear rotor. Could 2 apex's could of gone at the same time? What are the symptoms if 1 side seal goes? So now I own 3 engines that are all S4 and have 1 rortor that works or is salvageable. My very first one I took apart and saw first hand that an apex mangled the whole damn thing. I don't really want to rebuild myself either or have the time. Swapping or throwing in an engine I have done and isn't so bad.

Now what are my options? I thought different car but wouldn't be worth it for me with some of the money I got into it. And who would pay me 3 or 4 g's telling them that I'm selling 3 cars which all have blown engines. Kinda says something. I think I want to stay with the car and buy a new rebuild.

My theory is that it's an 86-88 engine with 2mm apex's that I had and aren;t very good at all. So I need a rebuild from somewhere and I might as well as get a streetport of sorts for a little more snot. I wasn't even planning to do any other mods or waste any other money on this car but a paint job and now I got this ****. So when I get this rebuild, what else should I replace while it's out? I'm staying N/A as well. I read that I should get 3mm seals and different rotors? What else would benefit me to have a strong running daily driver?

Where can I get a good rebuild in Canada or near Thunder ****(Northwestern Ontario). Plus I got 2 cores, maybe they can cut me a deal. Maybe those engines are only missing a side seal. Can a side seal be lost and not create damage to the rotor?

Sorry bout the length, just wanted to display my thoughts and such!! Any feedback would be appreciated!!

If you drove for 100KM on a blown engine, that half of the engine is toast. 3MM seals will offer you very little "blow up" protection, so they're generally not worth it. The question you have to ask yourself is why you keep blowing engines.

For rebuilds, try CP Racing in Orangeville. Fair prices, good knowledge.

The first was a home rebuild. The second was out of a car that an old guy drove and probobly never went passed 3 grand.

Got and address or number?

I'd rather but one in Canada and not pay the huge fees and such

And I never planned on rebuilding and the place I send the core to doesn't have to know that I drove the one half a 100 clicks either

oh crap.. for a grand get yourself a J-spec turbo motor. You can even find places that include the transmisison.. $1100 got me an engine and tranny. No problems yet.. seems to be a pretty good motor.

Essential Speed is a new shop in Cambridge. One mechanic has been doing rotaries (street and drag/race 7s) for years and is pretty much the only guy to work on my 7.

(519) 574-4032

Kevin owns the place, Ivan is the rotary mechanic.
