Blew my car up yesterday!!!!!
well ive been doing a nelson S/C install for awhile and just drove it yesterday i knew it wasnt going to last long with 146,000 miles so i said she gonna blow it gonna blow now well heres how it goes.Well a new update on the S/C install, time for a motor! We got it back together today and took it for a test run(me and my buddy rob (S14onair) well all was going well it was to tempting to see what it had and was running rich as hell so i nailed it leaving from a little store we have here and it pulled hard very hard, starting bogging and i think i hit fuel cut but not sure(wasnt paying attention to tach) i have a FCD that is still sitting in my shed floor which i should of hooked up to begin with but i knew it wasnt going to last long anyway with 146,000 miles.Well we pulled up at the school and checked everything out then started back home, well rob said if it was my car so we pulled out of the school and gave it all it had and BOOM she blew i dont know what happened but pretty sure it hit fuel cut i let out the clutch and nailed it and it just smoked the tires then went to shift into 2nd and it gave out big cloud of smoke and a loud boom, got my bro to bring the truck and take it home, then rob said "at least he went like every man wants to go,being blown(boost)" well its back to the project im going to miss autox, but maybe i can drive my dads car a couple of times this year,i should have my car back up and running by mid summer but in the meantime its working overtime and selling RX7 parts. The car ran great until then it was very strong i mean awesome i never felt power that strong and smooth with no real torque, never jerked you around but just smooth raw power,i cant wait to do it again(the boost part not the BOOM part).I have been thinking about it and i dont think it hit fuel cut i htink maybe it just hit to much boost and blew it never buzzered for the redline so im not sure what caused it to blow but will definately rebuild and go at it again with a fresh motor..

there is no fuel cut on an N/A ECU... which I assume you were still using? did you add any more fuel? turbo injectors?? or just stuck the SC on the N/A motor?

Two, try some punctuation in your writing. It makes it a lot more readable, and enjoyable.
Hitting return occasionally wouldn't hurt either.

Keep Right Except to Pass
Damn, dude! Why run it so hard with so many unknowns? What kind of manifold pressures were you seeing. What about fuel pressure? What rate did you decide on?
Sorry to hear it. That one sounded pretty violent.

At least on the 89-91 NA's, if you keep the heavy foot down, you will hit something (I don't know if its fuel cut or RPM cut, or something else) around +8700 rpms.

I'd agree with the maxing the injectors on an S4.
I finally got to punch it with my 680's yesturday. and rather than leaning out and misfiring at 8200 she bogged and mega backfired at 8335. (I had it set pretty rich at 9K to be safe) I backed off the throttle when she started (most likely) throwing flames that would probably make napalm jealous from the sounds of it.
I just wish the roads would dry up so I could play some more with it. Following the bogging I decided to dial in the injectors some more in the lower revs rather than try again for top end.

i have 550 injectors in primaries and secondaries, walboro fuel pump, cartech RFPR,Apexi S-afc,the motor was gone to begin with i was loosing coolant and it was losing compression, was really getting hard to start i dont know what pressures i was seeing.I didnt pay attention to any of that, yes i know it was stupid, but it was fun while it lasted.I will have it back up and running by end of summer so its no big deal. The more i think about it i dont think i hit fuel cut,im pretty sure it ran lean when it hit max boost and detonated, yes i should have had it tuned but didnt want to put the tuning money into something that had that many problems.Autocrash i didnt know i was being graded on my post im sorry ill try to do better next time.
