bleeding the rear brakes

My upper bleeder broke, and i was just wondering if i could just bleed with the lower screw, or if i need to do both (took off the caliper). And if i need to bleed the upper one how can i get that broken screw out. The top broke off, and it is pretty much flush with the caliper (Not enough for vice grips to get it). I was gonna JB weld a bolt to it, but i'm sure there is a better way.

Use an EZ out to remove the bleeder. You may need to open it slightly with a drill, insert EZ out, hit the unit with some heat, propane torch, and out she comes. I don't know if bleeding by just the lower would get all the air out. You can bleed by using the upper and not the lower as long as caliper not dry. I know on older Vette's you need to bleed both or air is trapped in the caliper.

I was using those EZ outs on some broken bolts earlier and the things broke on me, they seem to be only useful when the bolt isn't stuck, i've been working with this bleeder for over a week, heating it with propane and soaking it in liquid wrench.

just replace the whole caliper.. they are pretty cheap at most auto parts stores (usually under $100 and often under $50).
