bleeding clutch only get fluid to pump last half of travel

Years ago I put in an ACT extreme clutch, light flywheel and a stainless braided clutch line. The car has been very lightly used since then as I build it into a monster, but I had noticed the clutch always engaged a few inches off the floor and I would have problems shifting quickly like it wasn't fully disengaged. The car has 45,000 miles on it.

So a few days ago I went to rebleed the clutch with that phoenix bleeder system that I borrowed from work. I tried to pressure bleed it through the master and couldn't get fluid to come through the line. I then tried to vacuum bleed it and could not get much flow. I checked the bleed screw and I could get water to flow through in the sink and so I tried again with the same results.

So I just hooked up a hose to it and pumped the pedal. It went to the floor easy but I noticed I was only getting fluid during the last half of the pedal pump.

I adjust the clutch rod in and out and it made no difference. So after bleeding it the best I could I get a good pedal, and have not driven it since but I suspect there is still something going on. Any ideas?

well it clearly has to be one or the other. But it could also be something in the braided hose or the pedal adjustment. The fact that I cannot easily vac bleed or pressure bleed it would lead me to believe there is some sort of restriction in the line.

Just seeing if anyone else has had similar issues trying to use a one man hand pump style bleeder or if something is indeed wacky with my setup.
