Black hood on a red FC

I just purchased an aluminum hood and i need to get it painted and i was wondering if anyone had any advice or perhaps pictures of a red 91 N/A FC, or any red FC with a black hood, or should i just try and paint match.
Thanks for your input.

I personally like a flat black hood....I autocross and the damn reflection blinds me with a "bling bling" paintjob... That's my personal preference..... I think you should paint the center flat black and do the outer area bodymatch that would be cool........good luck

IMO, black hood on a red car usually means you want someone to think you have a carbon fiber hood or something, or that your too poor to get a part painted once you got it from a junkyard. I'd get it color matched.

kk Thank you all very much for your input and yeah i was hesitant about painting black because i didnt want to seem like i was trying to fake cf or look too poor to afford paint, well we'll see what i do.
if anyone has anymore pics of red fc + black hood i'd love to see them

I prefer color match myself. Like Ocelot said, it makes it look like your trying for the CF look. Remember, the anti rice ****'s are always patrolling these threads ready to bash you for having some fun.

my fc is also red with a black aluminum hood. the reason for mine is...i am a poor college student and can't afford to color match. the paint was really bad since it sat out in the sun for quite some time so i just painted it flat black, just so it won't rust or get messed up. it would have looked weird if i painted it red, and it didn't match the car. if it was black, it wouldn't matter that much about matching. i have a black stock spoiler on mine too (got it black) so it sorta matches i guess. my whole car is sorta rough and ugly looking but eh, i like it.
i'll post some pictures this weekend when i get my digicam back from my brother.

makes it look like a typical ricer who wishes they could afford a CF hood, but paints it black instead.

But to each their own...

I am in the process of getting my hood with a ram air hood scoop added, mirrors, and rear wing all painted semi gloss black. I will post some pics when I get the stuff back from the paint shop. The reason for this is that the red on my 90 GTU is not to good and some day I will get the whole car painted.

Later
