Black Goo on LIM

I am running premix 1 oz to 1 gallon of gas . is this black goo normal on the LIM and on the engine block it self......?

and do u guys put RTV on the gasket between the LIM and engine as well as the UIM to LIM.

Considering your using premix, along with the normal enamal buildup caused by the injectors, it looks normal.

It looks like someone used RTV on it already.

haha actually i used RTV and pulled the LIM off later cause i have some leaks on the LIM/engine . so now im thinking if i should use back RTV or just bolt it on with the gasket with no RTV.....

whats enamel buildup by the injectors btw?

Fuel does not burn up 100%.
That's **** in the gas that cannot burn.

If you have a new gasket you dont need RTV to help it seal. Using a very thin layer though helps when it comes tome to take the gasket off again though.

I always use RTV on Mazda OEM paper gaskets, cause the gaskets come off easily.
If careful, you can reuse them.
BUT, be careful with the LIM gasket - there are two pin-hole holes that are used for the air bleeds.
If you plug them up, it will affect idle!

ok thanks for the advise all....no wonder i have a bad idle cause some of my rtv are blocking the pin holes u mention ted.... great call =)
