Question biggest intercooler that can fit in a TII?

I remember i used to have the dimensions and stuff from spearco but what is the biggest possible intercooler FMIC, you could fit in a TII with NO modificatioins or cutting?

Also as far as turbo size what is the smallest you could run with it? and is there any place to buy pre-made and shaped piping?

thanks

I have a Spearco 2-248 (3.5 x 15.6 x 20" core + approx 3" end tanks) in my 20B FC. I think this is about as big as it gets without cutting anything, although my hood latch is removed (hood pins required). The piping for the 2-248 is another story, however, as some cutting is required to get it around the radiator. It would be difficult to mount any FMIC in an FC without cutting or moving something. If you open your hood, you will notice that there isn't much space between your radiator and hood, nor is there much space under the headlights, and any piping running below the radiator would limit the car's ride height. I suggest playing around with cardboard mock-ups to see what works for you.

You can get piping from about anywhere, and there are many manufacturers of flexible elbows and couplers. I've even seen PVC pipe and clothes dryer ducting on some cars. Of course, it's better to cut & weld or bend the tubing, and use the flexible couplers only on the straight-line tubing with tie bars, but I realize that not everyone has the skill or money for this. If you want quality pre-bent tubing, you are probably better off getting a kit. Besides Spearco, here are some places to get pipes, elbows, and couplers:

You can use any size turbo with an IC. However, the larger the IC volume, the more turbo lag, especially with slower-spooling or lower-flow turbos. This is because the turbo must initially pressurize the entire IC system along with the engine. On the good side, larger volume IC's will normally have less pressure drop than a smaller IC. It's much better to get one that is too big as opposed to one that is too small.
