big rotors-stock calipers see details inside...

i just got an email back from power slot about my inquiry of why they dont have the power plus option for any rx-7?? right... he says that there is not a large enough demand to make them.. so here i am trying to get enough people interested in it to get atleast 25-100 of these adapters to move the stock caliper higher to clear a larger rotor. i need as many people as possible to complete this so if you want a bigger brake set up than factory that is easy bolt up then start a list. we drive fc's so ofcourse we are not well funded as the fd owners(bs) but i dont want to fork over 1500+bucks for bigger brakes when i can spend 200-500 bucks on a adapter, and still achieve the bigger brake advantage and the appeal of the bigger rotors behind 17"s-19"s.

How big of a rotor are we talking about?
Would it require moving from the stock 16" rims?

thats why i need info and as many people as possible to get in on this so we can comprimise on how big and get details so this works for 90% of people. im just trying to as alot of people to show interest cause then they might make a one time deal and make like 100 for just us.(idk) but i have been talking to powerslot rep. Danny thru email and will keep you posted but we need alot of people.

this is pretty sad that no one wants to have bigger brakes for a fraction of the cost..? people come on stop looking and put your name down. who doesnt want a little more braking power..? 43 people have lookd at this and 1 reply..

why not just make an adapter for the ever popular brembo calipers. or the heavier duty z32 (90's 300zx) 4 piston calipers preferred by most drifters.

I rather have a different caliper + a bigger rotor combo.

My stock 4 pot TII calipers hold for one or 2 hard laps. Thats it.

ok then well thats what this thread is about tryin to cut the financial corners of paying full price for a bbk, but my main intention ofthis was not for track cars or abused daily drivers but geared for the dragger/spirited driver, but all apps. welcome for discussion.

The whole point of a BBK is to run a larger (diameter & thickness) rotor to increase the heat capacity of the braking system. A BBK also uses a caliper that has a larger pad to make use of the larger rotor.

A stock setup with upgraded pads, and cooling ducts is very capable on the track.

We could use The popular brembo 4 pots that are on everything from srt8's,evos,track ed. 350z,sti's and the list goes on.....

Or we can do the same for the cheaper nissan 300zx 4pot mated to 300zx rotors.
YOU can go to your local junkyard and pick these up for under 60 bucks. then buy new rotors for the front.
Brake lines might not match.. but this shouldnt be a prob.

SO the only thing you would need is an adapter for the caliper.
This adapter must be strong and it must place the caliper centered perfectly of the rotor.

see how cheap it could be?

if the rotor size stays near 12" then it should clear the stock 16" wheels but not the 15" wheels on NA's. i am currently doing some research on my own kit using some factory rotors from nissan as i can get them for nothing. power slot should aim for a kit to fit under turboII wheels so we don't have to go hunting for wheels that will clear the larger brakes. i think the max rotor diameter that can fit under 16" wheels is 12.2"-12.5". would power slot also include rotors with that kit?

There's more to adapting some other cars brakes than just a caliper adapter. You need to be sure that the hub fits in the rotor and that the rotor hat offset is about right.

One big advantage to a BBK that uses different calipers is that it allows you to use much wider rotors that pump more air through them for better cooling.

With any of these you'll want to look into a proportioning valve, cause even if you run larger front rotors with the same calipers, you'll have more stopping torque in front than before, causing the fronts to lock up sooner than they are intended to, making the car understeer more under braking.

Most FC owners are cheap.
You really should quote a ball park price?

Having to go with larger diameter wheels will turn off some potential buyers.

You can maybe get 20...I doubt you can get 100.
