big brake kits

i was needed new rotors so i wan going to get a big brake kit... i have seen a few out there are they were i think 2500 for i believe just the front.. they looked decent but a little to much... i was wondering if anyone else had links to big brake upgrades... i have the 4 bolt brakes and i wanna keep it that way.. i dont feel like upgradeing to the 5 bolt... i was think maybe take a big brake kit for an acura integra? will this for considering that it is 4 bolt? any help would be sweet!!!

the bolt pattern of a honda-acura is different then the mazda. KVR performance has a big brake kit for the four lug rx7 its like $2550 or you can make the switch to the 5 lug brake system. K2RD also has a big brake kit for the 5 lug rx7 starting at $1000.

I doubt your front rotors will fit in the back. The front rotors are bigger than the back and the calipers are smaller back there. Im pretty sure with a lot of cash and time you could fit them back there.

It's easier said than done. When you have time, go outside and compare the front and back brakes. Also look at how they bolt up. If it were that simple to put bigger brakes in the back, more people would do it. Besides, putting the big brakes in the back would be a waste of money IMO. The front brakes do most of the braking while the back brakes just take it easy. Buy some good brake pads and you will notice a difference.

Hey I have a contact Donny Lam. I was about to purchase a set of rotars from him, but i backed out and bought something else.
Here is his email don_2nv@yahoo.com ask him for a set of rotors. He had a dutch auction on ebay but no one bidded. If you plan on purchasing a set of rotors contact me back at orbitzzz@hotmail.com I might be interested again to purchase just two rotors, so we both can split the shipping charges and work out a deal for the rotors.

If you have the money do the 5 lug conversion. The big brakes that come up front are WAY better than what you currently have. I had an SE with the same brakes as yours and now I have a GXL with the bigger brakes. BIG difference in stopping power. Look on the parts trader for a conversion. Theres a guy selling the whole kit (rotors, calipers, hubs...) for a decent price. I think you should start of with that and then move up to something crazier if you need to.

If you dont want to go that route do your homework on cross drilled/slotted rotors. Do a search and you will find lots of good info on them. Theres a good thread on brake pads in the wheels section.

You want to keep your 4-lug but run bigger brakes?&nbsp And you don't have the money to purchase even the 5-lug upgrades?&nbsp Good luck to you...

4-lug FC's are not that rampant, and most of these owners who are serious upgrade up to the 5-lug hubs anyways.&nbsp You're going to have to convince some shop to produce a custom one-off kit just for you...be ready when they laugh at you when you tell them you don't have the cash.

I did my conversion about two weeks ago and what a difference! The same guy that I bought my conversion from has another one if you want it. PM me and I'll give you his info.

3 G's on rims is good enough reason to keep the 4-bolt; but a big brake kit might be overkill unless you have already done some serious modding to that car. Some good brake pads and some good condition rotors should stop you just fine. You could go to a slotted or drilled rotor but they seem to get mixed reveiws. I recommend the Rotary Performance slotted rotors that do not have the slot reach all the way to the edge to reduce the chance of cracking. They also have excellent brake pads. Your money could be spent better elsewhere.

bremo has a system with 8 piston 4 pad calipers and 14" rotors, for all four corners. I think it was around 1500 for the whole thing. I will have to look when I get home.
I know I did see another bremo kit that was around $900 for all corners.
like I said. I will have to look when I get home tonight

Yeah, when monkey fly out my...
No way in hell a REAL Brembo brake kit is going to be priced that low.&nbsp Entry-level Brembo kits start at $2,500 and go WAY up from there...
