I was thinking about my S5 taillights and i was wondering how i could make the 'circles' more difined (so they stand out more).

i was thinking about painting the areas around the circles gloss black

13b4me said i should spray the whole thing with window tint or something. that, or remove the light defuser, neather of which really seemed to be a 100% fix.


anyway, if you guys got any ideas, hit me with them.


also 13b4me talked about some different ideas, all ofwich involved opening the lights (obviously), so i was wondering if anyone had any tips on that (i dont want to break anything)


so just as a quick re-cap on the questions:

1. how do i make my lights stand out a little more?
2. what should i look out for when opening them up?

 

My 88 RX-7 has custom painted tail lights. I don't like how it looks, but it was just an experimental thing. You can see the pics in my garage.

 

ewww... no offence, but not my cup of tea.
you can remove the diffuser plate behind the plastic and it'll give you the look you want take the tail and a hair dryer and heat the seam up, its hardcore glue btw and eventually you can seperate it. search for modernized tail lights for pics by ericsseven

yes i made a thread similar to this almost a year ago here are some pics of what 13b4me was talking about.

 

looks like a waste of time to me, the circles around the tails are already almost smoked so who cares if it is a little darker outside the rings? i never was a fan of the "badger" look anyways.

i just think its a modest mod thats still 99% stock, yet different (and cheap)

and as for the no-defuser-look, i still dont think its what i want, i like now being able to see the bulbs and all that

I like the look of stock eyes......er.....taillights in these cars I think the only way to really make them look any more modern is to mount some kind of round truck LED lens in place of the old round ones as seen in those threads with that orange or yellow FC from Tokyo Auto Saln
