The best way to measure for wing holes?

I was thinking of putting black paint on the tip of the bolts that are on the wing and place it against the body (black paint on white car = bolt marks)?.

What would you guys suggest? I have a vert so idk how well it would work out.

Make a template of the wing out of cardboard. Put holes in the cardboard where the wing holes will be. Place "holed" cardboard wing template on trunk and trace the holes.

Black paint on bolt tips add too much room for error.

Templates are your friends.

How did the wheels work out?

Thanks.

I went ahead and passed on the wheels. I woke up with a 'don't get them feeling'. They tended to look to much like mustang wheels and stangs are my thang. Thanks for the help on them though. I will keep the advice you gave me for the future.

Now you can get a more agressive offset too.

That was another thing. I wanted a lip on the outside of the wheel.

You can do it that way, or if you have some putty you can do a motorcycle trick used for putting frame sliders on.

Get the wing, put some putty in the general area of where the bolts will be. Then push the wing down, making marks on the putty. Then you can just drill where the dimples/stubs are from the wing.

I tried to mount one of those flat wings on my vert without using a smart approach to where the holes go. Now I got about 6 holes in my trunk lid. Wish I woulda thought about these smart ideas before

You live in vegas......so as long as their covered, its ok.

Not like you have winters or salt

Tack a plate on the bottom side holes, and bondo the top.
