Best way to handle my situation (open me)
Best way to handle my situation (open me)
At the beginning of winter i went out to start my 89 TII and it was flooded. I did the usual stuff to try and unflood it at the time (pull the EGI etc.) and it wouldn't work. At this point i knew it was severely flooded and about a week after that i tried unflooding again(pull plugs/turn engine over etc)... and it still wouldn't start. So i decided to push the car in my garage, and prep it to sit for winter. Now its finally spring
and I'm ready to get the car back on the road. What precautions should i take while trying to get it started, i know there's probably no lubrication in the housings at this point and it would be harmful to turn the engine over without getting some type of lube in the spark plug holes. Should i go with oil?(what kind) or ATF (what kind)? New plugs? I'm definitely a little paranoid but... better safe then sorry right?
any help/opinion/experiences greatly appreciated!

I would just try crank the motor so oil builds back up, but first turning over the motor by hand. But take the egi fuse out so no spark or fuel is being injected.
Get some fresh fuel, change the oil after its running.

You could use olive oil if your goal is merely to boost compression.
stuck
Also, regular oil isn't harmful to soft seals, unlike atf. The only time atf would be preferable is if u think u have a such seal...

Pull the EGI Fuse and roll over with plugs OUT.
then put in some oil in the holes and roll over like 4 times..
Then throw in plugs, hook up the EGI fuse and do not touch the gas.Start the car up.
IF it doesn't start do this again..
make sure the plugs are clean of any gas,or it won't start.
You should also make sure that the gas is Fresh,(if not,.. there is a 14m bolt in the tank bottom on the passenger side that you can drain the gas out).
