Best way to get faster top end on an N/A

I was curious what ya'll thought the best way to increase the N/A speed off the line. When I open up my port I don't really want to lose much on the top end.

It's pretty simple - Less weight & It needs to breathe.
Header, exhaust, cold (ram) air intake, port job.
In the drive line: LSD & a high final drive ratio.

Putting Miata Gears in wouldn't hurt, cuz it makes 1st a little taller, 5th a little shorter, and it puts you right back into the meat of the powerband with every gear change.

do headers really make that big of a difference in power? the stock exhaust manifold looks to have no restriction...

I think the stock manifold has a humongous restriction. As I understand it you will get more power out of a header than removing/replacing your cats.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Are you serious?? Look at the way the manifold is shaped. The exhaust comes out and hits a wall, then has to turn a 90* angle.. IMO thats a major restriction...

if the headers are seramic coated then they are better but if there not, all your doing is overheating the exhaust, your bound to crack something sooner or later

Care to explain this theory?? Many of us are and have been running a header that is not Ceramic coated for years, with no adverse effects. What exactly would I "crack" using my header? How would a header overheat the exhaust any more than the manifold? All that a header does is smooth out the flow to increase the velocity that the exhaust can be exhumed from the engine.

What RXMFN7 said.

A header smooths out the flow of the exhaust making it less restrictive that way.

Headers will crack after many MANY years usually. I don't know anyone with a RB header which has gone bad yet.

Ceramic just helps insulate keeping the heat from other under the hood parts(intake),etc.

The only thing I could think of that would crack a header would be tossing Ice water on one instantly after driving a lot.

A header is known to produce 10-15 more whp on the 13B in best cases. Highflow cats, presilencers or straight pipes seem to give a milder change in performance according to the reports I have read here.

And one other thing, why does this topic keep coming up every three days?

My friend removed his air filter cuz it was "restricting" and i imagine leaves **** got sucked into the intake, his compressions dropped immensley.
