Best vacuum & hose diagram? & cleaning agents?
I am in the process of rebuilding my 88 AE RX. Everything has gone very smooth thus far, however I had NO idea there was sooo many hoses. I think I may have a problem getting them all back together with he info I have available to me right now. Is there a good book, or webpage or something that covers the path of the vacuum lines, and fuel hoses and such? Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Part 2: I am spending one day taking things apart and the next day cleaning what I took apart. What should I be using to clean these engine parts? I mean the hardcore metal stuff like engine mounts and such I am not worried about ... but things like the intake manifold, and items with sensors & fuel parts, gaskets and such I am more leary about.

Answer 1: There is none I have ever seen. Your best bet is to find a really nice forum member to take pics of their engine for you to use as your guide.
Answer 2:Brake cleaner for the metal. It will clean ANYTHING. For the gaskets, you should use new ones. Carb cleaner for the more sensitive pieces, which brake cleaner would eat up.

be careful cleaning though, the manifold is aluminum as well as most of the other peices on the engine, make sure it is safe to use aon aluminum first. Aluminum is very sensitve and pits very easily to harsh chemicals. I have used the castoral super clean in the past..this **** works great, but you can leave it on the aluminum too long though.
My father always uses gunk, he like swears by that stuff, and it is safe to use on like anything.
Do you own a haynes manual? iknow they have a lot of diagrams in them.

I don't have the Haynes manual. I have the electronic copy of the shop manual ... some decent, but complicated diagrams in there.
If anyone has some good Vacuum line photos of there car please post them
Ya i have been using gunk, the castrol super clean, and brake part cleaner thus far. Those are the 3 I bought to clean all this stuff with. I must say the castrol stuff is wonderfull, cleans really well and smells alot less potent that the other 2. do you think as long as I risnse it off that its okay on most parts?
