Question best turbo for the job?

I know I have been asking alot of questions lately, but I need to, so thanks for putting up with it. I did try to search for this, but after looking thru a few pages, I saw nothing I was looking for.

I am having a motor built by BDC, and it will be having a large streetport. I also have an E6k, 255lph fuel pump. I dont have injectors, which meanss I will just upgrade them. I have the RB DP and MP, and I will buy an Apexi N1 (possibly upgrade the DP and MP to 3"). I will also buy an intercooler kit.

I dont have a turbo either. My problem is deciding the best turbo for this motor. I saw a T04E kit, but I was told it isnt a good turbo for some reason. I would like to get a little over 300hp at the wheels. So can someone tell me a good turbo and manifold I should get that will spool up at somewhat early? Thanks.

well, 300 on lower boost, I would like to get like 375 or so, when turning up the boost. Sorry for not being specific.

I guess also a suggestion of what type of intercooler as well to handle the power.

A T04E would do the job easily. I don't know what you heard about it being a bad turbo, it has worked fine for countless people that I know. But if you are shooting for numbers like that then a BNR stage 3 or 4 would be fine. Plus with those turbos then you could use the stock manifold. Just a thought.

Oh, and about an IC. Tons of people go with either the GReddy FMIC kit or build a FMIC setup using an NPR core from an Isuzu turbo diesel. I'm just not a big fan of FMIC's so I'm probably not the best person to ask. Sorry.

Not a fan of FMIC's?

But the Greddy kit can be available at http://www.rx7store.com, its usually the norm since it can easily support big horsepower numbers.

As for turbo listen to anyone above, http://www.rx7store.com has references to the BNR upgrades. Check em out!

Well, I would like to get good deals on everything, but I do make some pretty decent money, and not alot of bills. I got plenty of time to finish it, seeing as I have another car right now. I just saw rx7store.net and the BNR upgrades, but I dont have a turbo core It sounds ok, but the stage 3 upgrade thing only gets 340-350rwhp it said.

a hybrid should spool quicker than most other turbos but the stage 4 hybrid is a bit laggy, you will compromise quick spooling for higher HP numbers so keep that in mind when looking for a turbo, basically you can't have it all but you can have a happy median.

so a t04b with a .60 and .96 compressor side? That seems to be what most use.

That's a little small for the job. You will need at least the 54 trim to get around 350rwhp @ 15psi boost. Of course, there are many other factors in determining the power level and the power curve.

Too small...

Why don't you ask BDC about what turbo to run?

You could get closer to 400rwhp on pump gas with something like a 60-1, .96 hotside or larger...spool up isn't bad at all, either, especially with the ball bearing option.

Yeah, I'm more of a V-mount kind of guy. That's why I'm making my own V-mount setup. But that wouldn't help this guy out, that's why I didn't mention it initially.
