Best Sounding Quiet Exhaust?

I've actually been looking around for an exhaust that sounds really good and looks really good on the FC. I also want it to be fairly quiet though. I don't want my ears to bleed on the highway. I do just want a single tip 3in exhaust. I do want it from the turbo back, and I'll be running a cat too, just for emissions, and so that I don't smell like exhaust all the time

Lemme know of any recommendations you can give me. Appreciate it!!!!

Get a downpipe and the catback system from Racing beat, then make your own midpipe to connect them with a 3" high flow catalytic converter.

I don't want to have to run a dual tip though. I just want to have one canister. Are there any exhaust set-ups that are like this and sound good?

the stock exhaust is quiet, my dual apexi's are loud as hell even with the silencers I can't pass the DB test at state ref in cali , I'm planning to switch to a single apexi, the rb rev-tii or maybe the greddy PE or maybe greddy finally came out with a SP version of their exhaust

So you want it to be completely 3" from the turbo on, single exit, and quiet? Make your own from mandrel bent piping, fill it full of catalytic converters and resonators, and one giant fart can at the end. Should be quiet after about 5 cats and as many resonators.

Don't forget to wrap the whole thing with header wrap.

Well, I'm not tryin to get it so quiet to the point where I can't hear it. I just don't want it to be soo loud I'll have police chasing after me every time I turn on my car. I am looking for 3in piping all the way through from the turbo back though.

I'm not going to be running the stock cat, but I will be running an aftermarket cat.

Does anyone know where I can get a 3in cat? I haven't been able to find any place other than Rotary Performance that has the 3in cat, but they don't have the flanges.

put the cat in the downpipe's straight section. that will free up some room. put a long borla xr-1 midpipe in and run that to a known company's catback. 3" is going to be loud no matter what, but that will make it tolerable.

Be wary of aftermarket cats for rotaries in your specific application. Most aftermarket cats are going to be high flow, which make the exhaust quite a bit louder.

i have a bonez downpipe, rx7 connector pipe to a corksport muffled midpipe, and an apexi gt catback.
its silent at idle, and roars up top.

now on the dyno

to be honest, i think this setup sounds awesome.

Supertrapp!! and run all the disks. My friend has one and its silent as hell with all the disks but has a great tone with them removed. Even at idle and at WOT. As for me I have the RB 3in dp, presilencer and 3 in piping to a HKS hi power muffler. Its alot quieter than I ever expected. sounds great too. Something to expect when buying quality parts.

the thing is, it was all haphazardly put together. the turbo came with a downpipe so i used that. then i got it all bolted in and was like... wtf? had to buy the connector piece. so i purchased that along with the corksport muffled mid pipe and slapped the stock NA catback. was an ok move as that thing was what i had to work with.

eventually i found an apexi gt catback that a forum member was selling used. so i plucked it up.

have been happy ever since.

you just have to patient. good deals pop up all the time.

rb duals do sound good. Quite down low and then when you let it all out it's nice and loud. NA is a little louder than T2 at idle but both sound like a screaming f1 car at full tilt
