Thanks for all the input, I am now leaning towards the Mazdatrix SS. Next paycheck should be enough to buy one.

Seems like people on this thread have backed up/shot down pretty much every short shifter unit i've heard of... i wish there was a way to try b4 u buy. Although I havent used any of them.... I personally like the idea of the Mazdaracing... shortest throw, cheap and the rotary-themed **** is cool!

I think mazdaracing's unit is something over 60% redux of throws.

C's have been out of business for awhile now. Look for them on ebay, yahoo, new old stock, etc.

I have a question, do any of the listed short shifters retain the stock height? thx

I cant garuntee my answer, but no. That would add more throw to the shifter.

Just remember, Mazdaracing will only support an S4 ****. Those type of ***** are very limited in variation and dont come in all too many "thrilling" looks. And even though Mazdaspeed has more throw reduction it will run you about twice the cost of what Mazdatrix and Mazdaracing go for.

I say go with Mazdatrix with the decent throw reduction, S5 threading for more **** compatability, and the decent price

Yeah, I got my Mazdatrix on Ebay for $50. It came with all the bushings and such, new. The throw was reduced by more than 50%. I think it did retain the stock height.

For those of you with a C's, what's the thread measurements?

I'm looking for a real "use-the-actual-threads" shiftknob for a C's shifter. Suggestions, pictures, company links, etc. would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The thread measurement for C's short shifter depends on which generation it's made for. S4=12x1.5, S5=10x1.25.

Also, the C's does retain stock shifter height. This is good because if a reduction in shifter height is done, then shift effort will increase.
