Best red vert color

I'm picking up an 88 vert in the next few days. It's red, but it seems that mazda red is closer to orange to me, might just be the fading.
If I were to repaint (and I will) what's a cool red to use?

Personally I like darker reds, but the big deal is a quality paint with a good UV resistant clearcoat.

I own red 88 vert and some part of its body have turned into orange-ish red (so I am thinking what I'm gonna do with it...). If you select red from stock color, I would say select S5's red. It's brighter than S4's but looks great.

How 'bout that new red shade for RX-8's?
Looks good to me. Can any auto-paint shop get that color, or do I have to go to a dealer for it?

Mike,

my vert is blaze red, FYI. That's what it's supposed to look like.

Do a search on here for blaze red vs sunrise red. The 88 is supposed to be that orangish sunrise red. IT doesnt look all that great IMHO compared to blaze red.

I would stay away from any darker reds. FC's tend to look, well, not as good with dark red, burgundy, etc.
If you need a reference, you can come by the shop and see this other convertible which the guy says is painted some kind of corvette red.

MWPAYNE, that is my vert at Kevins shop and it was painted 4 years ago with the 99 corvette torch red. It looked like glass awhile ago but kind of shitty now due to winters and summers in MD. I made a mistake in having the clearcoat mixed into the paint instead of over it because at the time I lived in Florida and the sun down their will strip the clearcoat off any car that is not garaged. I plan to get it redone in a few months and it will be done with torch red again.

Thanks, you by chance have any pics of the car when freshly painted? Guess I could find a 'vette, though.

Man, you're letting KEVIN work on your car?? I just thought he made dirty clocks with oil leaks..

I think there is no better red on this planet than...Rosso Red (Ferrari color...kinda expensive ). I'm still contemplating on whether or not to paint my car this color just yet...it's so perfect but that's a double edged sword (cops and EVERYONE else like it too).
