best place to buy new carpet?
I'm looking for some decent quality, but cheap new carpet for my car. my old carpet really sucks. if anyone has bought any or knows a good place to buy some, please let me know.
I already know victoria british sells it, but I'd like to spend less $$$. oh, and I'm looking for carpet for just the front passenger area.
BTW, I've got a blue interior S4 coupe w/ the storage bins, if it matters.
any links/whatever would be greatly appreciated.
or, if this has been coverd, please point me towards the old thread. thakns

You want to look for a company that sells custom molded carpet for your car. The Victoria British carpet is custom fitted which is a huge difference. If you want a factory look make sure you go with custom molded. I am looking for a company to buy this stuff from right now, but I don't know anyone that has used anything they were happy with. Just google "rx7 custom molded carpet". You will get places like this

I have the carpets from 1AAuto (same as the ebay link). See also their website directly:
http://www.1aauto.com/
I have the dark blue interior carpets. The molding is good (has some fitment issues around the driver's side gas door and hatch release handles), and the carpet quality is better than the original. I highly recommend it.
I did not remove the dash to install the carpet. I did remove part of the center console, then I cut the carpet and tucked it in under the dash and around the shifter. The trims do a good job of holding it all in place.
I had to be careful with the seat installation though. I ended up cutting holes in the carpet to get the seat rails to sit over the bolt holes correctly. I spent about a week installing it (an hour or two each day).
1AAuto also has matching floor mats.

I replaced my carpet in 89 GTU about 6months ago. I bought the carpet from ACC out of Alabama. The web is www.accmats.com, phone is 800-352-8289. The cost was around $ 230. The carpet was good quality and has the heal pad. The carpet is nowhere near as good as the carpet that came with the car from Mazda. I took the dash out and laid the carptet in, cut holes for the seats, seat belts, transmission, fuel and trunk release, vents in hatch area. I think the storeage bins are already cut. The kit came with carpet for storeage bin tops. I can tell you that removing the dash is a pain in the ***, but I felt the carpet would look better if I did this rather than cutting it and poking it under the console, plus you run the chance of making the wrong cut. I would suggest buying the heat insulation that has a foil on one side and pad on the other to put under the front carpet. The kit comes with jute backing, but could use a little more padding. The Mazda carpet has a foam backing and is much better form fitting than the ACC kit. The ACC carpet is molded, but is not as good a fit as the factory carpet. ACC makes carpet for nearly all vehicles and I have used them on several car restorations.
