Best Intake for 86 NA?
Best Intake for 86 NA?
Hey all, Im new to the forum. I had a 90 supra turbo but it was totalled (sniffle), so Im getting an 86 NA. This is my first RX that ive put am parts (had an 88, but it was stock, and it was stolen
)on so ill be needing some help. My question is, whats the best intake for an 86 NA? The only one ive been able to find for an 86 is the HKS but i seem to remember hearing that it doesnt filter all that well. Will the Apexi intake kit fit and 86 even though it says its for an 87? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

The Apexi will fit ok.
A K&N cone filter will be fine too. You'll need to get an intake adapter from http://www.k2rd.com/Online_Catalog/FC3S/FC3S-index.htm . You'll also need a breather filter for the air pump.

I like the Bonez filters.
When you remove the stock airbox and put the filter on, you will need a way to get cold air to the filter. Leaving the stock snorkel helps a little, but more air is needed. Most guys build an airbox, with a fresh air duct from under the car, around the filter to keep the hot air from the engine bay out of the intake.
