Best HP output from a N/A

I was just curious what i'm aiming at to beat for the peak HP. (not really) I know bridgeports can really get up there and streetports are decent and PP's are pretty good too but can anybody tell me the highest peak HP they've seen on an NA? thanks bunches.

Umm i think the PP had it in the 13b form at around 315-350(average though is 250-300 WHP). They are the way to go for max pwr. The 12a pp usualy will follow behind by about 10hp or so. Otherwise the large bridge ports can be good up to about 275-290(average is about 200-250). The reason for the large average is because it depends on what kind of intake you use whether its EFI or Weber or whatever it kinda depends. But these are some pretty standard numbers that most everyone will agree on.

I have enough to make my stock clutch slip at redline shifts. I just realized today that when I shifted quick that it slips initially. Seems like Im reaching the most reasonable power potential from a non GTUs or TII.
After a few more details I think Im gonna call it quits on modding my NA power wise and just concentrate on preventave maintance.
Its a 86 base
REbuild and street ported, no Emissions, no power accesories, RB header, presilencer, 2 1/2" dual catback, intake, TB mod, LSD, 4pot brakes, coilovers, TII struts, Trust tower bar, elect. fan.
After Im done porting the manifold and I get the injectors calibrated and cleaned. I think Ill be happy

Most you can reasonably expect to get from an NA without cracking open the motor or doing some wild work is about 140-150 to the ground. The best I've ever seen with bolt-ons was 160 on the nose from a car with a fresh, SUPER tight motor, open 6-ports, Mindtrain header, midpipe, Dynomax cat-back and a cone. BTW, that was an '87 base.

Going "extreme" with porting, light flywheel, etc. and you can probably get in the 180 range with no NOS.

Busting 200hp all motor is not super easy, and can result in a VERY loud car with no low-down grunt that can be a lot of work to drive. Mind, 200 HP to the ground in a TII is like falling off a log - hell, I did 223 to the ground with $300 in mods.

My daily driver ('86 base with downpipe/midpipe and cone) is not super duper fast, esp. compared to my TII, but it's definitely a blast to drive. And there's nothing wrong with that.

Well, said. I've driven many a TII that wasn't as much fun as my NA. Horsepower is not everything.
Did I just say that?

TII's and NA's offer different driving experiences - I fully enjoy driving both. But, for out-and-out power, you just can't beat a turbo.

Many people don't realize that a 300+ HP TII is a LOT of work to drive - there's many times I got out of my car shaking with adrenaline. Yes, it's a blast, but there's a whole different set of rules to go with a high horsepower car for driving.

Stock TII's are hella fun, though - fast as hell and really quiet . It still surprises me every time I drive a stock TII that's running well - those suckers are QUICK.

No argument there. We had a hot laps day at a local track this weekend. My car, all kinds of goodies ($10K mods) got a 17.5 around the oval. I drove a friends stock 91 TII, quiet, smooth, and got a 18.1. I was shocked. What a blast.

I've got 230 whp in my N/A but thats with exhaust mild porting D/F clutch and NOS. I have since doubled the shot of Nitrous and haven't put it on the dyno yet. Now I need boost. Nos and rotary's go great together.
