depends on the slalom and skid pad...
Infini IV for example does a .91G on a 200ft pad and a 60.7 MPH through a 700 ft slalom
While the 88 GTU did a .80 on the same skidpad and the 88 10thAE did a .83
and slalom was 64 for the GTU and 64.6 on the 10thAE on a 700 ft slalom...
or the 88 vert which had a .82 on the 300ft skidpad and a 63.3 on the 700ft slalom...
or maybe the motor trends tests on slightly different pads and speeds...
a 89 vert did .83 on a 200ft skidpad and a 58.95 on a 600ft slalom
while the 89 Turbo did a .87g on a 200ft pad and 61.15 on a 600ft slalom...
or maybe the 89 GTUs which did a .86 on a 200ft 300ft pad but no slalom speed recorded...
see they are all different based on day, time, pads, slaloms

wow... so my 10th has better than my gtu!? I never would have guessed! I thought the 88 GTU was the auto-x king.. I assume that whoever had the best lat accel would be the best is that incorrect?

not necesarily g is a measure of a continue turning as in a single large turn but a car with good g's doesnt nesicarily handle great because it doesnt measure the ability too change direction such as a softer suspension will most likely give u better G's but wont handle (ie change directions better or be as controlable) as a car with a stiffer suspension that feels like its on rails u can go too far in both directions its finding the right balance (and ur GTU is alot lighter so it probaly is better for autocross)
it's easy to get HIGH lateral G numbers.
Grassroots motorsports (I think) just changed the tires to R's and gave their (brand new) 1987 TII an alignment and got >1G skidpad.
