Although it may be cheaper, and I mean may, a Turbo II is not exactly as easy to find in acceptable condition as most claim. A lot of them are beat into the ground, and it is quite possible that a person could spend more money fixing up a beat up T2 and making it reliable than if they went with the T2 engine/drivetrain into NA swap. Basically if you do all the drivetrain and engine swapping yourself you could save money and come out with a "better car" in the end in terms of bang for your buck.

Just something to think about,

Thanks

Thanks for all the advice, but i have to say one thing. To all you guys who are stuck on the whole "rice" thing, just lay off. If all you have to say is that my car is ricey, then find something else to say. Maybe you guys should get a life besides making fun of a 16 year olds car. If you guys could have done this to your car when you were 16 i bet you would think it was cool too. Just cause you guys had crappy fist cars doesn't mean you have to take it out on me.

thanks

dvst8-rx7- full blown body jobs are cool for a 16 year old, and once i survive the first two years with the already pretty good engine, I'm probably gonna do a huge engine swap, so no civics will be beating me. I was gonna do it sooner, but then i realized i'd get a racing ticket before i turned 18- and that means no licence until I'm 25! Thats gay, and that would really suck, so i figure I'll just mod this engine a little and do some fancy body work.

What did you just say? I give you props for the imagination and photoshop work but how do you REALLY plan on getting all this? I know you're only 16 but I'll give you a few years and once reality sets in, you'll understand. Those kind of body panels and parts are made for exotic cars. RX7s are great cars but those parts aren't made for them. RX7s aren't like legos..

I'm sure once you see how hard it really is to do all that, you'll get why we're pessimistic. Its not really because of the 'riceyness'. Its the unrealisticness.

I recommend going with the GP sports G four kit. I wouldn't get the rear spoiler, but everthings else is sweet. It looks good all around. Thats my personal fav. http://www.gpsports-na.com/aero/type4.htm

not to be such a critic, but I really dont like that front end. It has been used on every goddamn car ever made by a japanese company (look at andy's autosport, the you'll know what im talking about). It doesn't match the bodylines at all. If youre looking for a good looking kit, use the search function (no one on this forum can stress that enough).

I think you should do a liiiiittle bit more research before jumping into a money pit - im glad i did

yup

Actually, I was just messing around when i made this picture, but i really am gonna get the rear wing and the nsx sideskirts. I love those things! The wing is because it is the best one i could find, and i figure if i could ever find one it would probably be good quality. After all, it is a ferarri. The front end would take to long to mod to my car, so screw that. My dad had an fd (wrecked now) with the invader body kit and I loved it, so I wanted it on my car. I just want a cool front end, but none of the front ends you guys seem to like are cool to me, so maybe i will mod the invader onto my car. I think I'm goin crazy cause I just think of the things I like on the cars they're made for and wanna put em on my car. I like the 360 mirrors too, but whichever idiot said that this car would be "like every honda out there" is the stupidest guy in the forum. Has anyone ever seen a civic with nsx sideskirts, any ferrari parts, or that had any type of mazda parts on it? I think not, so until you see one of them, just shut up.

I'm guessing you haven't been to California yet. Everywhere you look, left and right. Its Toyota breeding with Honda..

my preference is if i was going to get an outrageous body kit, i'd go for the mariah widebody one. man is that ever nuts. but since i'm not into outrageous body stuff, my plan is to eventually get the corksport type 2 front (just a little more aggressive than an s5 bumper) and then the erebuni mold on wing, and have all the trim filled. and then if i could get my hands on one of those CF hoods from japan, that would be sweet. oh yeah, and watanabe rims.

the problem with ricers and body kits is that they dont realize the bodykits they get dont fit their cars, along with the wings. as for the "troll" picture with that front end. it is a prime example of two styles clashing. one is smooth lines and free-flowing curves while the other is an 80's sports car with the design characteristics of a low-lying wedge. they dont match

I say no cross breeding (no shogun on the RX or Ferrari). If your gonna go different and want to try some serious bodywork, do the FD front end. But you'll need a garage to park it for a long time and a couple FD & FC front ends for all the screwups that will happen. Even companies and people with body experience mess up and spend lots o' $$$. For example, Rotary Extreme recently made a second batch of the same front end because the first didn't fit right, and they have been doing bodywork for a while (I assume). Hell, its even hard to make stock body parts fit right.

You can do what ever you want to do. It just takes effort and time, so I suggest catching another ride while you work on the FC.

thats true, the rotary extreme front end (although nice in its own right). came out with a defective first batch of front ends, they all hung off a bit. but yeah, your gonna need another ride bad with all the work you plan to do.

Drive your car and maintain it for 1 year on your own, with no help from mommy and daddy. Pay your own way; with your own place and insurance. Then come back to us with a realistic plan.
