Best Exhaust for N/A FC
Hey people,
Just wondering what exhaust gives the best gains for an 88 N/A FC. The car is stock at the moment but i don't want to buy a system twice so i want to buy the appropriate one now. 3 key future mods will be:
Large street port
56mm ITB
Microtech
Cork Sport headers
De-Cat pipe
Veiws on best perfomance cat back, idea of diameter? Would like to stick with twin exits like stock but would consider singles
cheers

racing beat cannot be beat in my opinion. It is rather heavy but well worth the money you spend. I would suggest not buying the y pipe if you are on a budget. Plus, when i bought the whole catback system for my vert the tips were uneven, even with the rubber hangers being in decent shape. I like having two tips to match the twin holes on the bumper too. Maybe you could try rx7.com's exhaust, they make a great product but i have never heard it in person
p.s. have some sort of presilencer if you dont like super loud exhaust

This question gets asked every weak. Please search and you'll find more responses than you could get here, besides being more courteous.
I wouldn't worry about getting the "wrong" exhaust, as long as you pick one of the decent ones. The worst that could happen would be that you could get something that's too loud or you get in smog trouble, or cops pull you over for either. Or if you get something cheap like a glasspack or cheap cat the stuff inside could melt. But power-wise, it's not gonna make much difference between one decent exhaust and another (or even a lot of lousy ones, even though they may be loud and/or they're internals are melting). As long as you remove most of the restriction you're good. Beware of hype.
Since you have an s4 (1986-1988), you'll also want to test your 6 port actuation. Search the forums or www.aaroncake.net.
