best exhaust for catless na?

I have an s5 na with a racing beat downpipe and presilencer on the stock catback, and I was looking at some aftermarket catbacks. In my opinion the car is too slow to justify being very loud, even though it'd be bad *** sounding hahahaha. I don't want the racing beat because I plan to do a turbo swap at some point.

What I want is something that will sound good but not be super loud is all. Something deep that'll let those flames out hahahaha. Suggestions?

Yeah sorry about that. Previous questions I've had become irrelevant as things change for me. Never meant to annoy

the cat back is swappable between the 2 the piping should be the same size. I am using a corksport system on my car til i swap in the -re, the only difference will be a downpipe instead of the header.

OK, so just use the Racing Beat catback turbo exhaust system. The only difference is that like most manufacturers, the turbo mufflers are designed for higher flow and have less noise suppression. Therefore, just like any other brand, you will need to either choose the louder turbo mufflers, or choose the quieter non-turbo mufflers and then swap them out later when you convert to a turbo engine. If you come across any brand of muffler that does not have a turbo and non-turbo version, then that either means that the mufflers are a little restrictive for a turbo engine or a little loud for a non-turbo engine. You can't have it both ways unless there are both turbo and non-turbo choices.

If the stock Y-pipe is in good shape then you just need to buy the mufflers, although personally I would tend to buy the entire catback because its a decent package deal and that way I know the Y-pipe will be good for a very long time. Racing Beat hides the hyperlinks to their mufflers in the description for their catbacks, so here are some direct links that are easier to follow:

Non-turbo
Power Pulse Muffler - Left for 86-92 RX-7 NT - Racing Beat
Power Pulse Muffler - Right for 86-92 RX-7 NT - Racing Beat

Turbo
Power Pulse Muffler - Left for 86-92 Turbo - Racing Beat
Power Pulse Muffler - Right for 86-92 Turbo - Racing Beat

i think money is better spent elsewhere, you can have a local exhaust shop fab a cat back up for 150-250 depending on your local areas economy... its not like its a nice expensive car.. its a na rx7.. probably butchered all the hell anyway. an name brand exhaust system is just a waste. most rx7s i buy for 500, thats the cost of just the damn mufflers!

Correct me if I'm wrong but going by their description the only difference between RB's turbo and n/a mufflers is the .375" dia. inlet pipe and I'm guessing the core as well.

I would say buy the turbo ones live with it being louder and buy once. Or do as someone else suggested and fab something up. Only problem I've found with that route is finding a muffler that has stainless instead of fiberglass packing usually costs nearly as much as a RB one.

As far as I know the main difference is 2" vs. 2.375" OD inlet, although there may be some internal differences too. I'm not an expert, so contact Racing Beat if you want accurate details.

I have found the same problem. Racing Beat makes the cheapest high-quality muffler that I have found so far. The Rotary Performance catback is a good less-expensive option but it isn't stainless steel, and the Apexi, HKS, and GReddy products are nice but they are more expensive than Racing Beat. Rotary engines blow up popular cheapie mufflers like Flowmaster, so we are pretty much stuck with the high-end products as viable options for a long service life. I guess you could install a cheapie muffler if you just need the car running for a few days until you can unload it on an unsuspecting buyer, but I don't really think that is ethical.

So I'm definitely interested in the RB turbo catback now but will that .375 piping difference complicate things trying to hook it up to my RB presilencer?

Nope. Both cat-backs use the same y-pipe which is the part that bolts to your pre-silencer. The difference is the inlet pipe diameter to the muffler which is after the flange that bolts the y-pipe to the muffler. The turbo is .375" larger.

Lol just get the turbo Catback from RB
That will save you time & headache when you'll swap to a TII
You'll only have to buy a Downpipe when you swap engine

+ I think it's better to have bigger Cat Back on N/A than
Smaller Cat-back on Turbo'd

The difference anyways is 0.375 which is not even at the flange

Lol why do I feel like everything I just written was already said ...
ANYWAYS hard choice you got to do..I would think twice if I was you & ask more question :P just poking you

I have the full feed 94mm exhaust and it sounds the best from the tons of different exhausts I had on my different fcs from racing beat, trust, hks, apexi etc etc.

As appealing as that is, I do need to keep it under $700 or so for my exhaust

That Knightsports looks nice. Too much money though. I'd like to put some thing together using these. Borla 40058, Borla Boomer Mufflers | Borla though kinda pricey for a set. I'd like a little bigger tip than the RB has and liked the round cans of my old HKS sport.

The bad thing about the FC is that it users 2 main mufflers, and to keep sound down, a large resonator on the single pipe. So it's hard to fit that budget on a nice exhaust, mandrel bent. Plus rotaries are loud so it's nice to have the quietest exhaust, especially if someone wants to modify without cats.

The turbo version is only slightly larger in diameter, but there are 2 of those pipes with slightly larger diameter which comes equates to quite a bit more flow.
I would say these are your options.
1)Used quality dual exhaust
2) new custom single 3" mandrel bent exhaust. It will be loud
3) new custom crush bent dual exhaust. I don't recommend piping larger than 2.25"
Of course these options change with hook ups.
Another thing to consider is the exhaust tips looking decently even side to side.
