I dont advocate the use of the SAFC. After going Haltech, I will NEVER waste money on an SAFC again.

Haltech all the way!!!! In my eyes there is no other choice for the FC. And if you want one, I can get the E6X flying lead kit for $1200 shipped to your door all day long. Just PM me for details.

Be careful how you use the word "best".
"Best" is typically what you can't afford.

"Best" in your case is probably the most support you can get for a certain brand, hopefully someone locally.

First off the safc is a piggy back and not a stand alone. As far what system is the best for you? Thats easy, its the system that your local tuner knows.

I went with the E6K, because I polled some of the top tuners, to include RETed, BDC, and Steve Kan. They ALL said go with the K (the X was not available at the time). So my choice was fairly easy.

also alot of people have had problems with the e6x and it needed to be shipped back to AUS to be fixed. I have a e6x and we are running out of things to troubleshoot so mine might be on a plane back their. So I do not suggest anyone take this chance with the e6x model.

I have only heard of the E11v1's having problems. I know several people running the E6X already. I'm just waiting for an engine build up so I can start using mine. Last I heard, all of the new E6X's were rock solid. If you know something I don't PLEASE let me know so that I can send my ECU to Haltech before I bother installing it. Thanks in advance.

CosmoTT, get my phone number from Ben and give me a call. I'll hook you up with a Haltech if you want one. And to answer your question, the E6K was the predecessor to the E6X. I was looking for an E6K and couldn't find a new one, only a used one.

are there any websites, or posts will a Comparison/ "shoot out" kinda thing for Stand Alones..

Haltec+Motec+Microtech+AEM+Wold3d 4+Power FC etc

it would be nice to see the pro's and cons of each..

I'm really torn on what to get in the Future.. I'm currently running Rtek 1.7 but I don't think it'lll be much use when i "outgrow" the stock turbine...

i live in small area with not much demand for "tuners" or "tuning" so there will be no local support for me.. Hell our first Dyno opened a few days ago....so I'll be doin all "tuning" on my own... so goin with "whatever brand ur tuner reccomends" suggestion is out the Window for me...

My car was tuned by me, but I just ASKED some of the tuners I know what they would recommend. For you, I would DEFINATELY go with the K.

This is the clincher for me.

A fuel management system is useless without proper tuning. Since here in the Tampa bay area there is excellent Microtech support, that is what I am gonna use when my turbo motor is complete.

It's hard to find a new E6K. Now if you want to buy a used one then go for it. That is just one part for my car that I refuse to buy second hand.

This has been the subject of MUCH debate. The X is supposedly an uprated version of the K, and I plan to upgrade to it in the future. However, the X has had some growing pains intefacing with the stock Mazda Ignition.. Supposedly these issues have been resolved in the later model X ECUs.

this is making me want to buy a standalone but there are absolutely no tuners in my town and none for about 2.5 hours (houston). Would I need a tuner to just get the thing running or could I do that on my own and drive it to houston to get it tuned correctly?

You can PM BDC and ask him for a base map if you are running a Haltech. That would get you drivable and to a tuner.

Sorry oh great one, lol. I figured someone wouldn't mind just posting a link real quickly, no biggy. If I were starting a new thread about it I would have searched before starting a thread but since we where on the subject I figured I would ask that simple question. I guess you are no longer able to ask a question pertaining to the topic???

edit but thanks for the link

me....im going to go with pfc with datalogic and a lm-1 wideband sensor when i get enough money for it. yea...its going to cost alot, but its what i want. i dont feel like putting up with all the wires and stuff thats part of the haltec equipment. also, i just feel that the pfc is more advanced and "newer" than the haltec. beats me....thats how im going to do it.
