Best coilovers for street FC3S?

Tried to search the forum but nothing specific so please don't flame. Looking for the best bang for buck with coilovers for an fc3s. I have an 88 fc and have just bought some Simmons 17 inch rims (yes I know, cliche). It is basically just a street car that I like to cruise and drive through the hills, so looking for a balance between comfort and performance. It is already fairly stiff, so don't want it too unbearable to ride since it's a cruiser/daily. Was looking at around $1500 AUS for a budget so MCA reds are out of the question lol. Best suggestions and recommendations from peoples experience?
TEIN?
Kshock?
BC?
HSD?
HALP!!!

i'm running a set of Tein HA's, and i got them because i could (and did) send them to Tein to get rebuilt. if you don't have that, i would skip them. the HA's are 8/6 springs, and a little overdamped, so the ride on a smooth road is pretty good, but on the bumpy roads we have, my head falls off.

Tein has had several different types, and there was one that was 7/5 springs, and its easier to make it ride ok. Tein will revalve to your specs, but that gets $$$

i spent about $550 us/700 AUS on mine, so i'm in budget. it was ~$300 US to rebuild a pair of shocks

So if I were to order a set of BC's , getting them done in 7/5 would be a better choice than the stock 8/6. They are supposed to revalve them if you ask for a different spring rate.

Most coilovers only require reviving if changing more than +\-2. But if they offer it, why not.

I’m running part shop max (stiff v1, not recommended for daily) and they came with 10/8 and now I’m running 8/6.

with the Teins the shocks are kind of overdamped,, and so the ride is only good on smooth roads. if you're going to go with Teins, they made a set with 7/5 springs, which is easier.

in general though, the shock has a big impact on ride quality, if you get it right you can run stiff springs and its fine. most of these coil over kits though aren't great, so its just easier if you lower the spring rate.
