Best/Cheapest Rebuild Kit

hey,

I need some info on rebuild kits. Namely:

a. who has the cheapest

b. who has the best

I realize all kits are not equal, however, I do want to know who sells the parts for the best price...

Atkins price is $1014.00 for everything that the revolution kit offers. Of course thats for a s5 2nd gen. a s4 is $956.00. Not sure why they are different. The revoultion is the same from 86 to 91.

Thanks for the info. I just checked the prices and they're bit higher (~$800 for an 88 T2).

In any case, did the kit work out well for you?

Were you satisfied with the parts

www.mazdaformance.com has some really good prices on OEM parts as well. I buy all of our rebuild parts through them.

I would reccomend revolution rotarys kit as it is very complete.

I would also recommend that whie you have the engine apart you also replace:

All Hoses
All Belts
Clutch
Engine Mounts
Have Fuel Injectors cleaned
Pulsation Dampner (change to a banjo bolt)
Fuel Hoses
Oil Cooler line crush washers
PIlot Bearing

I did all this on my N/A and it all came to about $1300. (that is including the rebuild kit too!)

But remember, replacing all this will give you many miles and years of painless driving from your car if you take the time to replace them NOW.

That's a good point. I was planning on doing AT LEAST the clutch, water pump, belts, hoses while the engine was off the car. Cheap mechanical insurance, as far as
I'm concerened...

Right now I'm on the fence whether to throw in a high performance radiator. It's probably a good idea, but those things are expensive!
