Beside Flywheel, common slip solutions! 1989 Verti, manual tranny!
Just joined club, bought an 89 verti, not turbo, just regular, 5 speed, with the knowledge that clutch slips. 140 thou miles. Beside the flywheel, could there be any other causes for clutch slippage? Fluids all ok, no strange noises, just slipping when rapidly accelerating in all gears.
Thank you in advance for any answers.

Thank you for your quick response. Much appreciated. Going to have to tear it down, I guess, and look at it all. Any companies with which you would reccommend, highly, for replacements parts. Money not being an issue, but outstanding quality, and reliability a must?
Again, thank you!

if its just a N/A, id just go with a OEM replacement. And replace the pilot bearing, pressure plate, clutch disc, and throw out bearing. Along with new tranny fluid. Im sure im overlooking some stuff.
As far as websites try:
www.racingbeat.com
www.corksport.com
www.rx7store.net
There are others but those are the ones ive used and would recommend.

Who is this mombodog fellow? Sir, kindly do not respond for me. I am quite capable of handling my own affairs. I just read that the 2 1/8" socket required for the removal of the flywheel must be of impact in nature. I wish to maintain said vehicle personally, but sounds to complex for my limited mechanical aptitude. Can you reccommend a Rotary Specialist in the Bel Marin Keys area of Northern California? I would prefer someone with extensive expertise in this field.
Again, sorry for the longwinded response, but your timely responses intrigues me more about this vehicle. Thank you again, in advance.

Our transmission is actually very easy to remove. Front wheel drive cars are a pain in the ***... I can probably drop my '7's trans in under an hour with air tools.
