Benefits of ACV removal?
Well I have a s5 N/A, with a straight exhaust, (NO cats) and an intake. So my air pump just has a breather filter on it. Anyways, I want to keep my air pump cuz its a s5 and I need it to activate the 6 ports. Question is, can I take off the ACV and what benefits would it have besides cleaning up engine bay? Because I still have to get emissioned every 2 years so if its a PITA to take off and put on just for more engine space its not really worth it. What exactly does the ACV do and what benefits are there to removing it?

The air pump feeds to the 6PI and VDI solenoids are routed through the ACV, so if you remove it you'll actually lose a big chunck of power unless you reconnect the lines.
The ACV's purpose is to direct air to either the exhaust ports or cat convertor to reduce emissions. Since you need to pass emissions, and also for the reason above, I'd just leave it where it is.

On a TII, its ok to remove it. The benefit is that it cleans up the engine bay a bit and can cause you to throw some bigger flames due to the removal of the anti-afterburn system (not really benefits at all). On an N/A, removing it will hurt your performance.
