ok i got an update for everyone and some lovely pics of my FC

ok i bought some NGk spark plugs since mine were kinda rusty, also my engine does have compression after i was doing the ATF trick i was sprayed with it, also the trailing coil is good cause it shocked the **** outta me. i bought a new thermostat the one that replaced it is a 13lb,bought a new optia battery for it its 720CCA red top $110 (well worth it i think), bled the rear brakes, fabreezed whole interior, cleaned alot, removed hood for easier access. washed engine bay with a magic purple bottle and just basically did a litttle inspection to determine all the kinks and such, NOW the photos

ok the first photos are of my engine before i washed it (note: important things are bagged)
and the other ones are of the wheels and my interior and my really neat toggle switch i mounted for semi-security purposes
and the little bottle you see is a miracle worker (greasesd lightning)

MORE TO COME

if you are just having the car sitting around i'd actually try to pull out the motor and check it b4 trying to start it
might as well port it too

Pics don't work.

Also, I'm sure you know, but no synthetic oil, ever in the engine. Check all your underhood fuses, vac lines. Make sure you have no vacuum leaks when you try to start it. Change the fuel filter, and have a good fuel pump.

Good luck starting it. And if it starts, don't drive it really hard right away. Work up to high RPMS not as slow as a rebuild break in, but just don't red line it first thing. Give mechanical and electrical things the time to get back into the "working" thing.

don't spend LOTS of money on an engine you aren't even 100% sure is good. Why spend $30 on oil when you don't know it runs?

Get it running, THEN spend the $$$.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOk

heres what i did today:

drained/refilled diff
took gauge cluster out
replaced spark plugs
removed faulty headlight relay
checked fuel lines (thier bad)
did some more inspection
bled front brakes

thats all i can think of now

and last night i checked the compression and it blew my finger outta the port so thats a good sign, and im getting spark now the last thing i need to work on is the fuel area.

no when i looked under the car while replacing diff fluids i saw that my metal fuel lines are very rusted and leakinf which is a bad thing, one it wont hold pressure and its right abover the exhaust pipes. so if anyone knows where i can find the hard lines going from the tank to the engine would help alot its jsut the too big lines the send and return lines.

i have yet to check if my fuel pump is good, so that will be next weekend when i take a look in the gas tank and check the pumps condition.

Put oil right in the block for a couple of days and keep spinning the motor by hand and listen for the compression.

synthnetic oil is bad just use a good standard oil. for gas use lowest octane you can get (ignites quicker ) better for rotary use than high octane plus u will get better gas milage some people may argue these points but i have had 6 rx-7's now and i learned this stuff from people who know the reason synthetic oil is bad is because of the teflon that is in the oil it builds up in the housings and can wear out your apex seals and the gas lower octane = faster ignition which is better for power curve and decreases chance chance of detonation . these are just the things i have learned over the years w/ my 7's just thought id pass it along

yeah i just bought some normal cheap non synthetic oil (20w-50) for my rx7 havent changed it yet just waiting for it to start up.

and i dropped some ATF inside the ports and turn it over once a day to see if if feels any different.

so if i use lower octane it will be better? and i dont really have to worry about detonation cause my engine is still stock, right?
