Beeps are making me crazy

Does anyone know how to disable the beeps. I have built a rally car out of an 86. At random times it will start beeping. Most of the time it is 5 beeps. Other times 3 or just 1 but this car is loud enough without the costant beep, beep, beep, beep, beep Im gonna hit it with a hammer!

Do you still have the stock power steering system on the car?

The power steering computer checks for speed input and other things, and if it isn't seeing it's inputs, it will beep at you.

If you took out the power steering, just unplug the box - it's under the driver's side of the dash near the steering column. It's a small metal box.

Do you still have the stock instrument cluster? Is the PS pump hooked up electrically?

Look up the PS system in the shop manual - it's pretty basic. The PS computer just isn't getting the inputs it's wanting, hence the beep code. Should be easy to fix.

My car beeps too but it's 'cause the goddamn seat belt sensor sucks and thinks I'm unjacked all the time. Goddamn electronics.
