moving car without an engine

moving car without an engine

well, i pulled my engine but now need to move my car. wouldnt be concerned except the transmission isnt connected to anything up front. right now a floor jack is holding it up, but thats not going to move with it. any ideas?

i wouldnt worry about it.. ive moved car's a few times with the tranny hanging, didnt hurt a thing..

Get a metal strap. Bolt one end to the bellhousing using one of the mounting holes, then bolt the other end to the firewall using any number of spare holes.

Short distances (100 feet or so) won't matter, but if towing any length of time the tranny should be supported to avoid damage to the output bearing.
