Been an RX7 owner for 2 hours now...

Hi guys,
Swapped my 750 BMW for a 1989 NA earlier.
It seems to be displaying typical rotary problems - hot/cold starting, but the main thing is the idle seems to be really rough.
At 500rpm, it feels real lumpy. This isn't normal is it?

Could be a number of things, but it's probably rotten vacum lines. It would be a good idea to replace them all. They are prob 13 years old and are cracked to all hell.

500 rpm is too low. you should be idling at 850 at least.

is it idleing that low? try turning the idle speed screw on top of the intake manifold (13B INJECTION) is says up there. maybe that will get you over that lumpy section.

also, you can check the codes by grounding teh initial sec connector...there is a tutorial at www.1300cc.com ...this might give you codes as to whats wrong and you can reference them to a chart that is located on the same website...

Nope, it should idle @750rpm. Anything higher, is just to cover up a bad idle.
