what do you get when you combine a big *** turbo, an RE cosmo high compression streetported engine, 8000cc's of injector, 750lph of fuel pumps and ethanol? hint, an 800whp capable fuel system.

smells like an RC car in here.

i give props to Leo for doing his homework, this is about the most proper way i could imagine to build an RX7(aside from upgrading the drivetrain which will be inevitable), don't ask how much it cost.. he also did alot of running around to get this thing put back together and helping me reassemble this jigsaw puzzle.

well, for the record this isn't my car it is a customer's. it is also one of the last builds i will be doing and won't be giving specifics on it. it will be leaving in a few days once i finish up some misc wiring for the final reassembly for break in, dyno tuning and the upcoming vegas rotary car show/sevenstock.

will get a video made up once i can unpack it from the shop.

hopefully soon i can make a thread with my actual car and some progress. it's been so neglected it needs to be washed again because it is so dusty.

long story short i enjoyed building these cars and i never really did it for much profit, going the extra mile for people.

it just gets old having people breathe down your neck knowing that there isn't much profit there, eventually even the appreciation isn't enough.

You did what you loved to do, you did it very well and it shows.

Not many people can say they have done that.

Beautiful work.

That set-up above looks GREAT! That's going to be one hell of a car.

I noticed you hadn't been posting much lately, Karack. I thought you were busy or something. Plus, I heard a rumor a while back that you had been thinking about closing your shop. I was hoping it wasn't really true... But you gotta do what you gotta do. I can't blame you for not wanting to expand to other makes. I just recently came accross your "twin charged" thread. Pretty cool. It would be awesome to see another four rotor thread, too.

What is it that you plan to do for work?

That setup is mind blowing. It's sad to see you closing up shop, but I completely understand your reasoning. The market is shrinking. I assume you'll still be keeping your car and working on that?

Looking good! Is it a trick of the camera, or are the feed lines to the fuel pumps very thin?

-6AN feed lines(the flash does make them look smaller than they are), that is still 3/8" line(slightly larger than the stock feed lines on the car OEM). actually it's just about the same size as the bosch044 inlets so going bigger wouldn't really accomplish much. if it winds up being an issue it is only a few minutes to change the lines out for 1/2" -8's. the goal is still moderately conservative at 650whp, the exhaust will start to be a restriction at about 700whp anyways and the stock drivetrain will start to show it's weakness well into that level as well. the goal wasn't to move way more fuel than the engine needs, he used to have a surge tank with 2 supraTT pumps feeding the tank and the 2 044's feeding the fuel system, it was overly built by Darren(Gurew) and wasn't legal for NHRA standard being inside the cabin anyways. the turbo itself should be capable of about 900whp with straight 5" exhaust.

3/8" line can carry about 300lph@60psi, which is enough for 600whp on gasoline so i doubt it will be an issue, being that there is 2 of them feeing into 1/2" line after the splitter. bigger inlet lines wouldn't hurt, supplying more fuel than is being compressed and pushed through but i doubt it will need that much, i've already tested the system to 90psi off the pumps. i will do the volume tests before it goes onto the dyno to be sure it isn't an issue, measuring the amount of fuel this thing pumps is going to be messy, had a leak at the primary injectors when i first tested the system and it dumped half a gallon onto the top of the engine with just the haltech 5 second prime sequence.. it will empty the whole tank in 2 minutes.
