battery won't hold charge
Hello,
i have an 87 and for some reason, the battery doesnt want to hold a charge, i took the alternator to autozone to test it and and its fine, when i jump it and drive it around a little, and stop, itll start again right away, but if i wait an hour or 2, it wont start. What could be the problem, its a brand new battery. thanks in advanced

Did they check to see if the alternators voltage regulator was fine? They said my alt was good, until I told them that it had an internal regulator. Now my battery holds a charge fine and dandy with a new alt..

After someone backed into my FC, the passenger headlight retractor motor was draining my battery overnight. I pulled the fuse for the retractor motors when the lights were up and now my battery is not getting drained.

Pull the neg batt cable get a test light and/or multimeter. conect one end to the neg pole on the battry the other end to the cable. If you see the light or get current you have a drain.
To find the which circut it is pull out ALL of the fuses. Test light/ multimeter should go out. then put the fuses back in one at a time. when you get a light/voltage that circut is bad.
test the main fuses under the hood too. Itll have to be a pretty big drain to kill it that quick.
