battery relocation time

alrite, im just about to do my battery relocation...

I want to make sure I do everything right and do it the best way possible.

Ok i bought an aluminum box and i want to put it in the storage bin behind the passenger seat... only problem is it doesnt sit properly due to the freakin oval shape. How did you guys compensate for that?

Once i figure that out, next thing I'm going to do is ground the negative wire to the frame. What did you guys do with the old negative wire in the engine bay?

After i do this, i'm slightly confused on what to do with the positive wire. I want to run it underneath my car but if i have breakers on it i cant aparantly. Where should i run the wire and where do I run the wire too? I want to do this properly, i dont want to just connect it to the old wire.

Thank you for your help

There are more than a couple of threads on this subject, but I'll tell you that the important thing to remember is to leave the "old" negative cable in place, if you are going to ground the "new" one on the chassis, that way your starter will have a good ground from the existing ground on the left strut tower...If you remove the entire "old" negative cable, your starter's sole ground will be the small tranny-to-firewall ground strap, & it won't last long with 300-400 amps flowing through it!

It's about 100A actually (1.2kW), but you're dead right about the ground cables.

I disconnected the stock -ground.

I ran a new 2/0awg from the battery to the engine block, and another (4 or 6 gauge I think) from the battery to the chassis.

your starter isn't the only thing that uses that ground.. your ecu harness and spark plugs do too, so its important that it's very well grounded.
