what electronic things do you have hooked up in your car? i had that happen in mine, but it only happened when i switched on my system and dvd player in my car, the guys at marvelspeed said somethin about switchin over to a higher ampage on the alternator last time i asked them.

The belt should be adjusted to about 1/2 inch deflection, and not overtightened (which will wear out the alt prematurely).

Anytime the voltmeter is showing less than 13.5 volts the battery is not being charged. It should be at 14.4 volts 99% of the time if you have a good working alt.
