battery with opposite polarity
What do you think of using a battery that has the negative and positive polarity terminals on the opposite side of the battery to what the standard setup is?
Only reason I'm asking is that I was given one for free and my current battery is dead.
I know it will work but is there anything to look out for?

i guess i find that they chose that orientation in case the car hits a bump and the battery isn't strapped down, since if you put the positive in front then there is much less room for it to ground out on the firewall and hood.
it'd be easier to put it in the proper orientation but the battery terminals would be on the far side of the battery, still an easier way of dealing with your issue.

Every time I look at a engine bay pic on cars for sale the damn battery hold down is missing.
