I am taking the cables off of my 86 GXL, and I am a bit confused. One of the cables is black with a yellow stripe, it is just one wire, and halfway back towards the starter, there is a section where someone stripped some insulation off and crimped a loop on (to ground to a bolt basically) but it was NOT attached to anything....the other wire is black, has the extra wire for the fuse block, and was connected to the negative terminal when I got the car. That's what seems strange--I searched the posts here and someone had said the positive had the extra wire on it. From everything I have seen on here, my car should have never even STARTED!! But it ran like this for a couple months with no problems!!! HELP....
