my 87na has been sitting for a while and i needed to boost it to get it started
i hooked it up to my neon and it started after a few cranks and the old fuel cut off trick

I let it run for a minute or two then i went to disconnect the jumper cables and the second i did that, my rx7 shut off!

I know my alternator is a bit weak but i think it might be the battery

plz help me

 

Get a voltmeter and check the voltages...

hey homes, you can take it to the parts store, like any main stream one and they'll check it for free for you, both the battery and the alt with this machine, it does pretty much the same as what Ted says, just checks the voltage and amperage of both. Good luck. Im thinking your alt is shot, and your battery is just drained down enough to not keep it running.
