I blacked out a set back in 93 with the spray tint. If you take the lenses out of the tail light you can get a better application

i can think of alot of legal issues with the tint.. someone rear ending you accidently.. blaming you for your tail light tint to get out of the at fault even though they know the lights were perfectly visable at night. they are not legaly approved so how yould you fight it?

Yes, the bottom half is obvious enough. The top half has a much more professional, clean, modern look to it (at least in the pics) and is what I'd be interested in. ****, I'd like to see a set of s5's with a transparent red lense like that.

The tophalf looks like straight up transparent red, no diffusion. I'm just curious as to where you get a sheet of that

May be a thin layer of plexi in red.... dunno. How easy are the s4's to dissasemble? I noticed they have screws.. Is that it or do they have to be "baked"?

i must be the only person that thinks s4 taillights look amazing at night time. The s5 tails look to much like the ford probe or some other gm cars I have seen. Actually most of the time I don't see me tail lights.

look up erikseven's S5 light mod, all you need to do is remove the stock S5 diffuser and it looks like the top half of those S4 tails.

^^^ I agree.

If the lower lenses were fully clear (not reflective/bumpy on the inside) they would look MUCH nicer... So nice, I would buy a set.

S4 at night are great. I wonder if people in Japan try to get our S4 tail lights? Some Aspec.

12 years later GM and everyone and the sister company trys to make circle tail lights of some kind.

I personally like the stock s5 lights. I've always liked circle lights like that. I've honestly never even seen s4 lights at night, and I've just seen s5's from pics. I've only seen 2 other second gens that weren't parked and I never noticed the tails.

Process:
Light sand the edges with 800 grit
Wipe the whole thing down with NAPTHA
Shoot 4 thin layers of "model tint" spray
Let dry.
Shoot 2 layers of industrial clear.
let dy.
Here are the pics, the reflector still works as you can see in the picture, it is the red spot on the driver's side light...

Your cans are off set. The right one hangs lower! get it fixed asap!!!!!!!!!!
Man, how did I not see these tails when i was there the other day? Might look at them a bit closer.
